Our History

Where it all started

In 2005, Redwood Logistics (A Brokerage Firm) had a vision to provide capacity to their customers.

This is when FX (Freight Exchange) was created to guarantee capacity to their customers.

Starting out as a handful of company trucks in the Chicagoland area quickly grew into much more.

Later that year a potential customer reached out to us with a need for capacity in a market we had no footprint at the time (El Paso, Texas). We strategically put a plan in place to provide an immediate solution which consisted of providing them with available empty trailers for load.

We had to add capacity quickly and brought on our first group of Owner Operators.

It wasn’t long before we realized El Paso, Texas was going to be our new home! It was the perfect location to get started.

At the time, we went to the truck stop around the city and started looking for Owners. We asked a very simple question at the time “How do you want to run?”

It wasn’t long before they started referring more Owners and we started to grow organically. In 2010, we started a recruiting department to start bringing on the referred Owners and to grow our fleet.

We started with eight Owners in El Paso

We started with eight Owners in El Paso and gave them the consistency and miles they had always been searching for.

It wasn’t long before they started referring more Owners and we started to grow organically.

In 2010, we started a Recruiting Department to start bringing on the referred Owners and Fleet Drivers to help us further grow our fleet.

In 2014, we had the opportunity to grow and add another terminal in McAllen, Texas (Pharr) as we wanted to expand our border town expertise and support our customers need for additional capacity in another market.

In 2015, FX took the next step and purchased 20 tractors and started bringing on Company Drivers to our National Over The Road fleet to grow our footprint and provide additional flexibility to our customers’ needs at either the border terminal or in the market.

In 2026, FX (Freight Exchange) was acquired by PX Holdings. While continuing to provide our exceptional service to our existing customers, we’ll now be able to go after more customers/lanes/freight that will only provide growth, better consistency, and opportunity to our customers but more importantly, our drivers.
